The history of oro247

The founders of oro247, formerly business process consultants at multinational corporations and consulting firms, possess extensive experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle Netsuite, and Microsoft Dynamics 365. Additionally, their firsthand experience as SME owners exposed them to various online accounting, payroll, and CRM software.

However, these existing tools often operate in silos, leading SMEs to subscribe to multiple software solutions to meet their business needs. This results in high recurring subscription costs. Even worse, data must often be manually transferred between software platforms, or SMEs must rely on integration solutions like Zapier to automate data transfers, which further escalates subscription expenses.

Moreover, the oversimplified use cases and lack of permission controls in these software limit their adoption in daily operations. As a result, these tools often end up serving as "after-the-fact" solutions, with SMEs reverting to managing their daily operations on paper or Excel sheets. Information is typically entered into the software only on a weekly or monthly basis, often bottlenecked by just one or two administrative employees or the SME owners themselves. This delay creates unnecessary workloads and frequently results in a frustrating search for missing or incorrect information during the reconciliation of data.

While ERP software could offer a comprehensive solution, even more affordable cloud-based ERP options, such as Odoo, Tryton, and Deskera, often require hefty upfront implementation costs (typically in the SGD six-figure range) along with significant ongoing annual or monthly fees.

Frustrated by the lack of an ERP-like solution with SME-friendly subscription-based pricing that also comes with AI, oro247 was created to help SMEs truly digitalise their business operations, beyond just after-the-fact accounting and payroll.
